Our people

We’re a team of senior writers, ex-journalists, advertising creatives, PR professionals, designers, photographers and filmmakers. We’ve been brought together by our shared ambition to work with brands that do good, fix things and solve problems.

  • Oliver Pelling

    FOUNDER AND MANAGING DIRECTOR

Oliver has been writing stories and turning phrases professionally since he was a teenager. He founded Good&Proper so he could one day tell his kids (and his mum) that all that time he spent pointing dictaphones at strangers and staring into blank documents actually counted for something.

  • Jo Hardy

    GENERAL MANAGER

Jo is the kindest person you’ve ever met. After somehow surviving a couple of decades in actual advertising, Jo brought her mix of strategic thinking and operational excellence to Good&Proper. Jo keeps our team and partners on track and on time (which is very handy, as it turns out).

  • Emma Webber

    HEAD OF PR AND COMMUNICATIONS

Emma has helped some of the world’s best-known brands achieve miles upon miles of column inches. She’s a creative earned media specialist who knows exactly how to get our partners the coverage they deserve. She also once built a pyramid in Egypt. Ask her about it.

  • Sarah Smith

    HEAD OF CONTENT

You may recognise Sarah Smith from such iconic Australian radio shows as ‘Breakfasters’ on Triple R 102.7 FM. When she isn’t holding it down on prime time, she’s penning impactful stories and copy for Good&Proper’s partners. She’s also absolutely hilarious, which is nice.

  • Taryn Stenvei

    HEAD OF PRODUCTION

Taryn spent the first portion of her professional career writing and strategising for some of Melbourne’s most beloved indie publications and ad agencies before going all-in on impact-led storytelling. Taryn loves her job so much that she once told us she would “literally never quit.”

  • Meg Green

    SOCIAL LEAD

Meg is a creative and strategic Social Media Lead with nearly a decade of experience in the for-purpose sector driving measurable growth in organic reach, engagement and acquisition for brands spanning social enterprise, tech and not-for-profit in Australia and the UK.

  • Meera Dattani

    EXECUTIVE EDITOR | ADVENTURE.COM

Meera Dattani is a travel and culture writer and editor. Known for her work in sustainable and cultural tourism, Meera oversees Adventure.com’s editorial output to exacting standards. She also writes for pulblications such as The Guardian, National Geographic Traveller, and The Independent.

  • Tayla Gentle

    MANAGING EDITOR | ADVENTURE.COM

Tayla is an award-winning writer, editor, producer and content creator. She has been building brands and telling fun, important and human stories within the travel industry (and beyond) for over a decade. When it comes to comms and creative, we’re yet to find something Tayla can’t do.

  • Emily Barlow

    HEAD OF PARTNERSHIPS | ADVENTURE.COM

Emily is one of those hybrid types: an experienced partnerships wiz and a travel journalist. Over her career, she’s led impactful multi-platform campaigns and events with top tier lifestyle, F&B, tech and travel brands. Now travel is her #1 jam. So is doing collaborative work that actually does good.

Our board

We established a small advisory board in 2024 to help us stay clear on our purpose, provide essential counsel and to support our founder in a mentorship capacity. The board plays a huge role in helping us shape and define the ways we work, and in supporting our leadership.

  • Francie Doolan

    CEO, SMALL GIANTS FAMILY OFFICE

Francie is a senior executive with 25 years of experience reporting to (and sitting on) boards of ASX listed, not-for-profit and private organisations. She’s a compassionate and meticulous leader who uses her wisdom to help organisations unlock capital and operational efficiences and reach their highest potential.

  • David Johnston

    CEO, BEYOND TOMORROW

Formerly the managing director of Weleda Australia for 15 years, David has a wealth of knowledge on what it takes to run a purpose-driven enterprise. His wellness journey spans decades, from working as a macrobiotic chef to establishing an organic farm in the 1970s. He’s a champion of sustainability and ethical business practices, and now spends his time coaching other businesses on finding and staying true to their purpose.
